Food intolerance reactions are usually caused by chemicals that are found naturally in foods or by chemicals that are added to foods such as preservatives, artificial colouring and flavouring. It also can be related to the amount of the food consumed and may not occur until a certain amount (threshold level) of the food is eaten, but this amount varies for each person.
